It's time to Focus.

Focus mag: "So I'll send a photographer to take a photo of you for the next issue"
Me (hesitantly): "A photo...?"
Focus: "Yeah don't worry, it'll just be a head shot. Passport size"

Um, no Focus mag. It's bloody huge!

Catch me in the 'Meet the Experts' editorial in the March issue of Focus magazine. Mainly rambling on about myself and the clinic, but there's also a nifty little discount voucher for an initial consultation at the bottom of the ad. Yay for freebies.

Every choice and decision that you have ever made in your life has lead you to exactly where you are today. Take responsibility for who you are, the house you live in, the job you work at, the partner you have (and partners you've had in the past) and the type of person you are to others. If you don't like it, make some new choices and show gratitude for the life you have created.

What are you grateful for?

Music to our ears.

To all you Essential Health regulars, you've probably noticed that we've had NZ band Fat Freddy's Drop on repeat since before Christmas. What can we say, we're in love.

We've decided to mix it up a bit this week with some soulful India Arie and Triple J 'Like A Version' volume 6 album (Megan Washington covers Sublime's 'Santeria' and JBT does Jackson 5's 'I Want You Back' -holy potatoes!)...

A customer said to me last week when he was buying his fish oil, "Wow this must be a fun place to work". Yes Mr Fish Oil Man, it is.

So come in and rock out with us xx

you make my heart beat faster.

Going on a first date this Valentines Day? Worried about those awkward silences? Rest assured lovers because here are some fun-filled heart facts to dazzle your crush with...

*Women's hearts beat faster than men's.
*Three years after a person quits smoking, their chance of having a heart attack is the same as someone who has never smoked.
*A kitchen tap would need to be turned on all the way for 45 years to equal the amount of blood the heart pumps in a lifetime.
*Your system of blood vessels (arteries, veins and capillaries) are long enough to go around the world twice.
*When attempting to locate their heart, most people place their hand on their left chest. Your heart is actually located in the center of your chest between your lungs. The bottom of the heart is tipped to the left which is why the left lung is slightly smaller than the right.
*On average the heart beats 72 times a minute, 100,000 times a day, 3.6 million times a year and more than 2.5 billion times during a lifetime.
*An adults heart is about the size of two clenched fists.
*Blood is about 78% water.
*Every day the heart creates enough energy to drive a truck 20 miles. In a lifetime that is equivalent to driving to the moon and back.
You can thank me later...
